Today’s aspiring filmmakers are graced with a choice of digital video and film cameras that, in some ways have made much easier for newcomers to shoot their film. Join Chico Dall’Inha for a whole day as he explains the fundamentals of getting the most out of your equipment.
Chico Dall’Inha is a film director, producer and editor. His credits range from drama and documentary, to corporate videos.
Born in Brazil he started his filmmaking career as a cameraman, at the same time as learning editing skills and finally progressing to directing. Chico moved to London in 1999 and worked as an editor for the TV channel CNBC Europe for a few years. Since leaving CNBC, he has worked on a wide range of projects including documentaries, short films and corporate videos as an editor, cameraman and sound mixing.
His most recent film “AKONG – A Remarkable Life” is a feature length documentary that has won a few awards in festivals around the world. The film tells the life story of Akong Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist lama who was forced to flee Tibet in 1959 during the Chinese occupation undertaking a dangerous 10 months journey across the Himalayas on foot to India aged nineteen. Out of 300 people in his party only 13 reached India. Akong later would become one of the pionners who introduced Tibetan Buddhism to the West.
Chico Dall’Inha is an associate lecturer at Goldsmiths University of London teaching camera fundamentals, film editing fundamentals and sound design fundamentals.
Chico also runs his own company Awareness Media Production.
