FILM WESTON is a new free film festival; a community-inspired initiative, organised by, and created for, lovers of independent filmmaking in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.
FILM WESTON will take take place from Friday 8 May to Sunday 10 May 2015, during North Somerset Arts Week.
We will be presenting a variety of short films including documentary, drama, experimental and animation, made by local people or connected with the local area and the community. In addition, there will be workshops and Q&A sessions with filmmakers.
To submit your short film to Film Weston simply click the button below.
In this inaugural year, we are particularly keen to screen short films - docs, dramas and other forms - that celebrate explore, challenge, inspire or otherwise engage with the life of Weston and its community. Whilst we welcome the work of all filmmakers, priority will be given to works created by or for local people or connected with the local area and the community.
FILM WESTON is working in partnership with local organisations and institutions such as Loves Cafe, which will be hosting screenings and Weston College, whose media students will be provided with an opportunity to design graphics for branding and publicity, create video or animation trailers, and participate by submitting their own films for the festival.
Our organisation was created by and on behalf of members of the local community with an interest in using the artistic, social, political and cultural power of film and video to bring the community together; to question, reflect and inspire at an individual, local and regional level.

These four screenings are all outside, so wrap up warm and bring something to sit on. It's summertime and we're also tied by sundown, so screening start times may vary.

We also let you take control for a night with our Audience Choice screening! Vote for the movie you'd like to see at the Herne Hill Sunday Market on 12th April or out 1st May Station Square screening!
